FROM THE FOUNDER'S DESK

I would like to thank all my mentors for encouraging me and giving timely suggestions to start a purely charitable foundation -- "NANMA" meaning "goodwill".

During the two decades of my engagement with various cultural and charitable associations. I had come across several incidences that gave me sleepless nights.

In our day to day lives, we come across parents who are homeless, kids starving for education and livelyhoods, people who are mentally/physically challenged and need medical assistance and those who struggle for one-time meal.

You may term it as the cruelty of god or pass it off as their fate.

Our team realised that for several reasons, most of us are unable to contribute to these people or attend to their needs. And the hands that are serving are just not enough to reach out to the millions living in despair.

Thus began our journey with small initiatives of kindness and love.

My humble request to all our well wishers continue sharing your love and support so that we can help make this a better place to live in

NOTICE BOARD
Nanma Charitable Foundation recently organised its second round of relief activities for families affected by COVID-19.

On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, May 1, 2020, the team distributed 150 kits of daily essentials namely onion, potato, tomato, carrot, beans, cabbage, cauliflower, methi, masalas(adarak, karipatha, dhaniya, mirchi) etc to as many as 150 families living in Irani Chawl, Goma Patil Chawl, Pandu Patil Chawl and Kumbar Chawl in Netivaligaon, Kalyan East, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The families which included kids and senior citizens were mostly daily wage labourers, rickshaw drivers and underprivileged members. These families have been struggling to arrange basic needs without a regular income since the lockdown was first announced on March 24, 2020 and may further require consistent efforts like these to keep them away from hunger and poverty. On behalf of Nanma, we'd like to thank everyone who contributed to the cause.

Relief materials provided to 125 families affected by COVID-19 lockdown

The Covid-19 lockdown forced several daily wage labourers to shut shops and rendered them jobless.
In Netivali Gaon, Kalyan, Maharashtra, as many as 1500 poor family members including rickshaw drivers, small vendors, car drivers and labourers are afraid to step out of their homes and look for alternate sources of income. After a quick survey, team Nanma identified 50 to 100 such families and successfully distributed 125 kits comprising basic necessities of foodgrains, pulses and oil to the deserving family members in Kalyan East to help them survive the lockdown.
On behalf of Nanma Charitable Foundation, we would like to thank all those who helped pack, donate and distribute these materials by risking their lives and health.
Let's all stay home and stay safe.

Please wear a mask whenever you step out of your home.
Don't forget to wash your hands with soap and water or sanitise yourself before stepping in and out of your homes.
Do not step out unless absolutely essential.
Boost your immunity with homemade kadhas, engage in yoga or some form of physical activity at home to stay fit. Remind your elders to take their medicines regularly and on time.
Let's all fight COVID-19 together.
